Description:
The Auckland Chamber of Commerce is a not for profit organisation committed to facilitating paid employment for migrants and refugees and for assisting unemployed people and parents back into the workforce. We do this by providing employment-related information and training.

We are committed to transitioning migrants, refugees, unemployed people and parents into meaningful employment.

Services offered:

  • Education
  • Professional development
  • Lobbying, representation to local and central government, economic reporting to business.

We take a general approach but also specialise in migrant and refugee employment transition.

Workshop-course descriptions:
The Chamber's Employment Division runs four separate initiatives i.e Employment Choices, Migrant Work Experience, Kiwi Career Success and New Kiwis Programme.

Other information:
We evaluate our work using participant evaluation methods and keep our knowledge current through reading, research, professional development, networking and peer mentoring. Our trainers are from New Zealand (Pākehā), Britain, Ireland, Holland and South Africa. Our services are free to job seekers; however, eligibiliy criteria for attendance is set by our funding arm.
